The Leisure Society – We Were Wasted

This is beautiful and so sad. Monday should probably not be about listening to such things but it’s too amazing to not share this musical gem.

LYRICS:

And I
Will close my eagle eyes
Hang up my skin to dry

We were wasted son
We were wasted all
On the ride
From the nightclub
To our drive
All the way we sank

And from
The flat above the square
We watch our comrades bare
Their teeth, their souls, their flesh

We were wasted son
We were wasted all
On the ride
From the nightclub
To our drive
All the way we sang

Metronomy – Everything Goes My Way

I do so adore everything Metronomy does! They were the first gig I went to see in London and opened for The Klaxons in Camden. So long ago it was when Joe was still playing alone and the music was instrumental. Good memories ❤

LYRICS!

When I take you back, I thought you'd only up and run
But you are still here, I know
And when I take you back, I thought you'd only up and run
But you are still here, you are still here

And now everything goes my way
And now everything goes my way, it feels so good to have you back my love
I'm in love again…
Love, I'm in love again…

Why give it all on you, you shot a hole in my heart straight through
When you pushed me aside, three weeks I cried
But now you got me back, You know I'll never up and run
Yeah I stay in here, I stay right here

And now everything goes my way
And now everything goes my way, it feels so good to have you back my love
I'm in love again…
Love, I'm in love again…
Love, I'm in love again…
Love, I'm in love again…

HALLOWEEN!

So for Halloween I went all out and went as Black Swan. Made my crown from clay and wire with a lovely coat of spray paint and had an all nighter making a tutu from scratch! I rock! Just sayin’ 🙂

The Dodos – Fools

The Dodos are probably one of my favourite bands ever. Here’s a song I was listening to last night when I was falling asleep it’s too good.

LYRICS that mean something 🙂

Our fathers have been entangled in things
He’s been squandering, he’s been squandering
And we don’t do a thing, ’cause we’re busy and think
We’re just wandering, we’re just a-wandering like fools

His son is his prize, he tells a few lies
He’s got his father’s eyes, it’s in his father’s eyes
And he thinks in his mind that he’s just getting by
But he’s a compromise, he’s just a compromising fool

And the stance that we take isn’t much to bear
Yeah, we leave things to change on their time
And our failure to care for it leaves us blind
’til we’re tired and we’re crazed in the mind

Now he lies on his back, and they tell him it’s that
It’s just a heart attack, it’s just a heart attack
Too late to return to the ones that you’ve earned
No they don’t give it back, no they don’t give it back to fools

And the stance that we take isn’t much to bear
Yeah, we leave things to change on their time
And our failure to care for it leaves us blind
’til we’re tired and we’re crazed in the mind

I’ve been, I’ve been silent
